Job Title:   Volunteer Engagement Coordinator – AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) 
FLSA Status:    Full-time, Non-Exempt, 40hrs/week 
Supervisor:      Director – Foster Grandparent Program 
Location:           Pottstown, PA 
 
 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 
The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) Volunteer Engagement Coordinator has primary responsibility for the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, recognition, and retention of AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent volunteers. The FGP Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is fully cross trained in all aspects of FGP programming and supports the FGP Manager and FGP Director to ensure successful completion of all aspects of the Foster Grandparent Program. The FGP Volunteer Engagement Coordinator works collaboratively with the FGP Team (FGP Manager and FGP Director) to ensure quality programming for all stakeholders, gather and maintain records per AmeriCorps Seniors’ guidelines and participate in on-going process improvement. YW3CA mandates that all staff adhere to YW3CA policies, procedures, and mission statement. 
 
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new volunteers for the Foster Grandparent Program. 
  • Provide info to volunteer prospects and potential partners. 
  • Seek out and attend events, give presentations about FGP to organizations and communities serving older adults and build relationships with businesses and the seniors they serve. 
  • Develop and execute the annual volunteer recruitment plan to encourage older adults to apply for FGP. 
  • Vet FGP prospects and guide them through the onboarding process including interviewing, completing required paperwork, conducting National Service Criminal History Checks and facilitating a comprehensive orientation. 
  •  Support the planning of the annual FGP recognition event and ongoing activities to recognize the contributions of volunteers throughout the program year and ensure retention of volunteers. 
  • Ensure all volunteer records, both electronic and paper, are obtained, kept current and maintained according to AmeriCorps Seniors’ guidelines. 
  •  Assist FGP Team with the collection of program data and reporting. 
  • Attend volunteer training, events, and conduct meetings on behalf of the FGP Team as needed. 
  • Work with the FGP Team to develop annual program goals and support a commitment to continuous program improvement through feedback, evaluations, and analysis of outcomes. 
  • Other duties as required that support the FGP Team in the day-to-day administration of program and fall within the scope of the role. 
 
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE POSITION: 
  • A passion for working with a diverse aging population and a variety of internal and external stakeholders 
  • Knowledge of Montgomery County and Chester County community resources/contacts for older adults preferred 
  • A highly organized, professional manner with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication 
  • Strong presentation skills and meticulous attention to detail in developing and delivering FGP content 
  • An ability to maintain employee records, while ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity 
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the issues facing the community served 
  • Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the demands of the position and needs of the organization 
  • An understanding of YW3CA’s mission, goals, and objectives to contribute as a part of a larger team 
  • An ability to work independently with a high level of energy 
  • Computer (Microsoft Office) proficiencies, creative problem solving and effective time management skills 
  • A willingness to travel throughout Montgomery County and Chester County for programming activities on a regular basis 
  • A strong desire for continued growth and learning 
  • An ability to work independently, goal oriented 

Education & Experience: 
  • AA or BA in Social Services or a related field and/or relevant work experience preferred
  • Project management experience preferred 
  • Volunteer management experience preferred 
  • Community engagement and relationship building experience preferred 
  •  Must possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
